Eritrea’s high delegation returns home laying the foundation for next move

Eritrean delegation concluded the two-day visit to Ethiopia and returned home today. The visit received worldwide media coverage highlighting the significance  of the positive move in the relationship between both nations.

Mr. Yemane G.meskel, Eritrea’s minister of information disclosed  as well as holding “extensive meetings with the Prime Minister and other senior Ethiopian officials”, the delegation also delivered exchange of letters between President Isaias Afwerki and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

Foreign Minster of Ethiopia released statement that Prime minister Abiy Ahmed and President Isayas Afeworki will meet in person “soon” to take the discussion into the next phase namely implementing the Algiers Peace agreement and rebuilding the relations between the two countries.

The delegation also travelled to Hawassa, a city  located 273 km south of Addis Ababa to visit development projects.
